I store my Personal Accountz files (and lots of other 'important' files) on a network share on a Windows 2003 server. This is because the server is backed up daily both locally and remotely thereby protecting my critical data, photos, music library etc. etc.
The network share is mounted on my PC as a network drive, N:. Opening and saving files to this location from inside Personal Accountz is a little slower than if the files are on a local drive (2-3 seconds versus 1-2 seconds), which is not important but when I exit Personal Accountz it takes around 20 seconds to exit (even if I have just saved the file so it does not need to prompt me about that). During part of that time the Window title bar shows 'Not Responding' though of course it then recovers and exits normally. If I open a file located on a local disk then the exit from Personal Accountz is virtually instantaneous.
This behaviour is unique to PAZ. No other application I use has performance issues with files on network drives (the LAN is GigaBit and the server is plenty powerful). The issue is not specific to this PC as I have installed PAZ on two other PCs to investigate and the same behaviour shows there too. I think the issue must be with some operation(s) PAZ does on exit.
This is not really that big a deal but is is somewhat annoying. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Chris
