Personal Accountz Customer Comments
Just wanted to say that I could hug and kiss whoever it was that thought up this program (personal accountz). What a fabulous piece of software! You saved our group of companies from bankruptcy!!! Keep up the fantastic work and thank you again. And again. Regards, Todros Grynhaus FastPay Ltd.
I've used Personal Accountz for a year, and MS Money before that, and am in no doubt which I prefer. Accountz is quicker to use, and customised to fit my needs. The downside is that you have to think things out for yourself; instead of being presented with a standard template it is up to the user to decide how much detail they want. Is the most that you can realistically manage a simple breakdown of outgoings into cash, credit cards, mortgage, utilities, etc? That's fine, but if you also want to record and analyse exactly how much you and your partner are each spending on, say, alcohol, and where, you can easily include that level of detail without committing yourself to doing so for every other expenditure. If you want to be able to produce reports by payee then you can enter the payee's name; it is unlikely you will want to do so for every domestic transaction and you save enormous amounts of effort by skipping that column. If you want to be able to tell what you are spending your credit cards on then you will need to enter each transaction and allocate it to an expenditure category. The reporting function is a powerful one but depends on the variables having been input in the first place. What may have confused some reviewers is that the programme won't constantly prompt for input because it assumes that the user is omitting it by design. It does mean investing time in deciding what you want, setting it up and understanding how the programme works, and though I haven't resorted to the support desk the help file could be better. It is not a programme for people who have no idea how to structure home accounts. Andrew Hingston review on Amazon
Needing a financial management system for personal accounts which would work on an Apple Mac I eventually chose this. Having previously used Microsoft Money the transition was not without its moments but now I love it. You need to work to set it up. You have to grasp the concept that each item of expenditure or income comes from somewhere and goes somewhere. Once these headings are sorted it is easy. It is double entry book-keeping but it is all done for you. So a couple of hours sorting and setting up your income/ expenditure headings and it is plain sailing. Mr B Johnson review on Amazon
Before finding Personal Accountz, I had been disappointed that Microsoft Money was no longer available, as I had used this system for about 8 years. Personal Accountz works a bit differently, but is quite flexible, very logical, and the instructions are easy to follow - most unusual for computer software! For anyone who needs to keep control of their personal finances, Personal Accountz is worth buying. Take time to read through everything first, and plan your accounts structure before jumping in. Wow this really does do what it says and it does make it easy! I've tried other packages and this is definitely streets above the rest. Dr G review on Amazon
I recently purchased this product from Amazon. It was delivered in a timely fashion. I had previously used Quicken for my home and business accounting needs and initially I found the new product a little difficult to get to grips with. Once however you grasp the concept that each "category" of income and expense now becomes an "account", the rest is plain sailing. I am shortly due to calculate my income and expenses for my tax return....only then can I be sure how easy and effective Personal Accountz proves to be. Peter Bushell review on Amazon

It is so rare to find a user-friendly product these days that it makes the purchase price even more worthwhile. I am up and running within minutes and all on a Sunday afternoon. What excellent service. Mick Fillon-Payoux (via email)

I was invited to take over the role of Church Treasurer. It has been a most successful year and Personal Accounts has cheerfully coped with everything thrown at it. It was especially useful at the end of the year when I had to formally present the accounts to the Church Council, as I was able to use the summaries of activity throughout the year. Finally, I would like to say that Personal Accounts is first class and I would have no hesitation in recommending it Peter Simpson (Colchester)
